This 5-year residency program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, or ACGME. We believe that compassionate, timely and high quality academic urological care is vital to successfully serve the residents of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. The goal of this residency is to train competent urologists capable of delivering safe, effective and quality care to their patients. Our curriculum is content-centered and problem-based and designed towards mastery of urological technical skills with a foundation built upon cognitive ability and an in-depth understanding of evidence-based care. Additionally, the program provides an opportunity for leadership development and scholarly excellence. The overall goals and objectives of this program will be accomplished in a graduated fashion through a five year residency whose first year includes six months of surgery, including one month of trauma, one month of surgery critical care and one month of vascular surgery. The remaining six months in the first year include interventional radiology, anesthesiology, nephrology and urology. The goals will be accomplished using the six ACGME core competencies.
