Fikret F Onol, M.D.

Fikret F. Onol, MD, is a University of Florida assistant professor and a urologist at UF Health Jacksonville. Dr. Onol specializes in robotic-assisted and conventional reconstruction of complex male and female urologic problems, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, erectile dysfunction, urethral strictures, and genitourinary fistulas.

Dr. Onol focuses on understanding both the nature of a urologic problem and each patient’s unique circumstances. He explains diagnoses and solutions simply, ensuring patients are actively involved in their healthcare decisions. By considering their emotional and sociocultural backgrounds, he aims to provide a personalized care experience.

Dr. Onol received his medical degree from Marmara University School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey, and completed his urology residency at the same institution. He was certified by the European Board of Urology in 2006.

Prior to joining UF Health Jacksonville Department of Urology, Dr. Onol served at the Orlando VA Medical Center where he advanced the robotic urology program at this institution and personally trained healthcare providers.

Before relocating to the U.S., Dr. Onol served as the vice-chair and residency program director in a tertiary government hospital. During his service, he participated in several health mission trips to Sub-Saharan African countries where he performed complex reconstructive surgeries. He then permanently immigrated to the U.S. in 2016, and joined the AdventHealth Global Robotics Institute at Celebration, Florida, as a senior clinical fellow to further advance his skills in the field of robotic urologic surgery.

Dr. Onol is a member of American Urological Association and International Continence Society. He has made significant contributions to the scientific community through developing new surgical techniques and presenting his work at major international meetings. Dr. Onol is an author in over 250 scientific publications.
