As an innovator in health care, UF Health Jacksonville provides state-of-the-art services. These include a regional pediatric trauma center, regional Level III neonatal intensive care unit, developmental evaluation program and a stabilization unit for children requiring inpatient trauma care. This hospital is also the first in Florida and one of the few in the nation to have a state-of-the-art proton beam cancer treatment facility on its campus.

UF Health Jacksonville has become one of the finest teaching hospitals in the Southeast, due largely to the affiliation with the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville. This affiliation has served to further develop the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville medical residency programs offered on the Jacksonville campus. In addition, as the area’s safety net hospital, it offers our trainees the chance to work with patients from varied socio-economic groups, thus exposing them not only to greater diversity, but also help them understand the impact social determinants of health have on healthcare delivery and outcomes.

UF Health North

UF Health North is a full-service medical campus in North Jacksonville

UF Health North is a full-service medical campus in North Jacksonville, with a 24/7 full-service emergency room, advanced imaging and more than 30 specialty services giving residents in North Jacksonville and surrounding areas more convenient access to advanced healthcare. The medical campus located about 10 miles north of downtown Jacksonville that has an inpatient bed tower and an adjoining medical office building. The complex has seven operating rooms, two endoscopy suites, a labor and delivery suite and 168 beds overall. UF Health North features a high-output, high-productivity environment with a focus on positive patient experiences and efficient delivery of care. Since its opening, efficiency and satisfaction metrics have been exceptional. UF and community physicians practice on the campus.

Wolfson Children’s Hospital

Wolfson Children’s Hospital exemplifies the collaboration between the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, Nemours Children’s Health, Jacksonville, UF Health Jacksonville and the pediatric community. Their mission is to provide optimal health for the region’s children by providing patient- and family-centered care, education, research and child advocacy. This mission has led to a very harmonious, optimal partnership with those involved in our pediatric residency program.

Each institution contributes its strengths to make Wolfson Children’s a nationally recognized children’s hospital providing nearly all pediatric subspecialty services, along with pediatric research, education, and child health advocacy beyond its hospital walls. Wolfson Children’s Hospital consists of 216 pediatric beds. This includes intensive care, cardiovascular intensive care, oncology and bone marrow and neonatal intensive care units. Wolfson Children’s Hospital has been named among U.S. News & World Report’s “50 Best Children’s Hospitals” and was recognized as one of the top 50 for Neurology and Neurosurgery in 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. In addition, the division of Gastroenterology and GI Surgery were also recognized as being among the top 50 in 2015-2016 and the division of Hematology and Oncology in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 respectively.

Wolfson Children’s Hospital provides technologically advanced, family-centered care in a soothing, comfortable and newly refurbished facility. The hospital’s design and layout are child-friendly and colorful, making the hospital experience the best it can be for children and their families. The hospital also has Magnet recognition for excellence in nursing services. Most recently the hospital was designated as a pediatric trauma referral center by the State of Florida.

Nemours Children’s Health, Jacksonville is an outpatient clinic providing pediatric sub-specialty services. Housed in a modern, 11-story building conveniently located in the downtown area of Jacksonville on the south bank of the St. Johns River, it is connected to Wolfson Children’s Hospital by a pedestrian walkway over Interstate 95. Since opening in 1987, the clinic has provided outstanding health care to thousands of infants, children and adolescents from the local area, as well as from across the country and around the world. Today, Nemours’ staff draws on the Nemours legacy of experience, knowledge and compassion to provide the highest level of care in a unique child-and family-centered environment.
